On Sunday, September 25 at 4pm, Arlington’s Regent Theatre will kick-off its 95th anniversary season with a special late afternoon matinee concert event featuring a dynamic mix of entertainment harkening back to its early 20th century origins as an E.M. Loews vaudeville theatre. Proceeds will go directly into the Regent’s equipment fund.
Many acclaimed and award-winning Arlington musicians will be featured on the Regent stage including GRAMMY-nominated electric harpist Deborah Henson-Conant; composer John Kusiak (with the Tabloid Ensemble) performing selections from the soundtrack of the Errol Morris documentary, “Tabloid”; Woody Geissmann of the Del Fuegos; Bluegrass, swing, folk ensemble The Wicked Pickers; and teen pop vocal phenom Serge Clivio, American Idol Disney Experience winner.
Other acts include Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra (URO Unplugged), Regent box officer and singer- songwriter Patrick Coman and his band; legendary Boston stand-up comedian Tony V.; and physical comedian / juggling maniac, Dan Foley, who will emcee the event.
In addition, on the big screen, there will be a special sneak peek of the first Arlington International Film Festival hosted by the Regent October 6-9.
Enhancing the festivities will be a raffle with two winners receiving “Night on the Town” packages including Regent show tickets, dinner for two at Flora Restaurant, and accommodations at the Homewood Suites (Arlington) or Aloft Hotel (Lexington).
