Legendary ‘60s Rock Band Vanilla Fudge Return To the Regent Theatre Stage Saturday, March 26 to Perform Its Entire 1967 Debut Album Live For the First Time during Their “45th Anniversary Farewell Tour”

NEW YORK, NY—(March 10, 2011) - Legendary classic psychedelic rock band Vanilla Fudge has announced its return to the stage with their “45th Anniversary Farewell Tour” which stops by Arlington’s Regent Theatre on Saturday, March 26 at 8pm. The band has three of four original members—Mark Stein on keyboards, Carmine Appice on drums, and Vince Martell on guitars. Bassist Tim Bogert is now retired and Pete Bremey will be
the guest bass player.

The Farewell Tour will kick off March 18th in Asbury Park, New Jersey at The Stone Pony, continue to BB Kings in New York City and then to Boston for the Regent show, followed by a live performance on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” on March 28. The tour will continue through Memorial Day Weekend at Zep Fest 2011 in Washington, DC. The band is currently busy preparing for the tour, which will include songs from its RIAA certified gold first album released in 1967, but, on this tour, performed live in its entirety for the first time.

With millions of records sold worldwide, Vanilla Fudge is without question one of the most inventive and compelling groups in rock history. Vanilla Fudge was one of the few American links between psychedelia and what later became heavy metal. After performing their hit song “YOU KEEP ME HANGING ON” for millions of people on the blockbuster television program The Ed Sullivan Show in 1968, the band rose to record breaking heights. The album was a groundbreaking work since it was the first album to reach the top of Billboard’s charts without a hit single. Vanilla Fudge were one of rock’s most exciting, high-energy touring bands, setting the stage for the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, and Led Zeppelin. Their sold out tours of stadiums and arenas featured their pals and rock icons Led Zeppelin as the opening act.

The Vanilla Fudge “45th Anniversary Farewell Tour” will be presented on Saturday March 26th at 8pm (doors at7:30pm) at the historic Regent Theatre “Arlington’s Show Place of Entertainment.” Located at 7 Medford St. in Arlington Center (off of Mass Ave) —minutes from Cambridge and Boston—the Regent is MBTA and handicap accessible with free parking across the street. Beer and wine will be available to those with proper I.D. For tickets and info call 781-646-4849 or visit regenttheatre.com
