Former Massachusetts resident Ryan P. Casey will return to his roots on Friday, June 14th as director and choreographer of an evening of tap dance, “Transitions,” presented at The Regent Theatre in Arlington at 8:00 p.m. The show, Casey’s first full-length endeavor, will feature original tap choreography – solo, duet, trio and ensemble work – set to a variety of music, from Dinah Washington and Tower of Power to Harry Connick, Jr. and Shel Silverstein. Poetry, humor, hip hop and other elements are also included in the program.

On Monday, May 13 at 7pm, the Regent Theatre in Arlington Massachusetts will present a special evening of performances to benefit the Krystle M. Campbell Memorial Fund. The variety show—“Laughs, Licks & Awesome Tricks”—will feature musicians Vance Gilbert, Jesse Dee, Erin Harpe & Richard Rosenblatt, Franc Graham, and Serge Clivio, along with comedian Mike Prior and Jenny the Juggler. The evening’s emcee will be magician Matt Roberts.

Arlington, Massachusetts – The Regent Theatre is pleased to announce that on Thursday, March 21 and Thursday, March 28 at 7:30pm, it will screen a stunning new production of Charles Dickens’ GREAT EXPECTATIONS for local audiences. Dickens’ classic tale has widely been believed to be too difficult to translate to stage. However, this production has been universally acclaimed as a triumph on its sellout tour of the UK head of its West End debut. Having had great success of the stage, the production was captured live on February 7, 2013 from the Vaudeville Theatre in London and produced to be shown on the big screen.

If it’s billed as children’s music, he says, adults often find it irritating. And if it’s mainstream music that kids choose to listen to themselves, it’s often thematically or lyrically inappropriate. So the mission of Shriber’s band, Josh and the Jamtones, is fairly straightforward. “We try to create a sound where Mom and Dad don’t want to throw the CD out the window after the first listen,” the Newton resident said.
