Serhiy Zhadan is a Ukrainian poet, novelist, essayist, musician, translator, and social activist. His literary works have received numerous national and international awards and have been translated into more than twenty languages, making the author one of the most important figures in modern Ukrainian literature. He has penned several volumes of poetry, as well as a number of novels, collections of short stories, and essays.
His works often explore the struggle of life in post-Soviet Eastern Europe.
