Serge Clivio returns to The Regent Theatre’s stage by popular demand!
After premiering his first headlining concert (“Sticks & Stones”) on The Regent Theatre stage in February of 2018 Serge and his talented band booked, sold-out and played legendary venues like New York City’s Cutting Room and Feinstein’s/54 Below. Now, in returning a year later with brand new material, Serge Clivio Live In Concert… ...he will debut an all-new show that demonstrates all the poise and confidence this young, up-and-coming singer, actor and recording artist has acquired. This show is personalized for The Regent Theatre and will feature brand new songs that were all hand-picked by Serge. The audience will get a taste of all the different genres that shaped Serge into the artist he is today. You can expect to hear some pop/rock classics, brand new originals and even a jazz standard or two!
Backed by his incredible band, Serge returns to The Regent’s stage less than a month after an encore performance at Feinstein’s/54 Below, which was titled An Evening with Serge Clivio… (and Friends)! At the helm of the band is Broadway’s Mike Stapleton, currently found playing in the orchestra pit of the hit musical Wicked at The Gershwin Theatre. The show also features Serge’s 3 backup singers, NYU Graduate and RENT 25th Anniversary Tour star, David Merino; New York-based actor and singer, Eddy Cavazos; and actress of the stage and screen, Molly Keane-Dreyer. Berklee College graduates Eric Derwallis (drums), Michael Morrissette (bass) and Matt Sewell (guitar) round out the band.
Serge Clivio Live In Concert is Music Directed by Mike Stapleton and runs approximately 2 hours (with one-15 minute intermission).
ABOUT SERGE
Born in Waltham, Mass. and raised in Arlington, Mass., Serge Clivio found his love for singing right on Medford Street in Arlington. Thanks to his always supportive parents, Serge was enrolled into Mo-Co Music’s (now Torch Light Music School) after-school singing program (led by Maura Lynch and Clyde Ford). Once he finally hit the stage with them, he knew he didn’t want to leave performing for the rest of his life. Years later his journey found him majoring in Musical Theatre at one of America’s most prestigious schools for the arts, The Boston Conservatory. He graduated in 2017 with a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. Throughout college, Serge performed professionally around the United States. Some of his favorite credits include Cabaret (Lake Dillon Theatre Co.), Sweeney Todd (The Lyric Stage), Fiddler on the Roof (Weathervane Rep. Theatre), to name a few. He was nominated in 2016 for a BroadwayWorld Award for his portrayal of Fabrizio Naccarelli in The Light in the Piazza at Next Door Theater. After graduation, Serge signed with an agency and moved to New York City to chase his dreams. Within his first few months there, he was lucky enough to appear on ABC’s Television reboot of the iconic reality competition, American Idol. In his first year in the Big Apple, Serge signed with a record label and headlined his first concert, Sticks & Stones, to critical acclaim. He and his band were fortunate enough to play full houses at some of the worlds most sought after small venues (The Cutting Room - NYC; Feinstein’s/54 Below). He was also asked back to 54 Below just 1 month ago to perform a special, one-night-only concert titled An Evening with Serge Clivio… (and Friends)! He is currently in the studio working on his second single (out this year) and premiers a brand new, self-titled show at his home stage, The Regent Theatre. As Dorothy once said, “There’s no place like home.” To stay up to date on all of Serge’s events, visit his website.
