Jon Cohan and His Golden Rulers play classic American blues, rhythm and blues, soul, funk, and rock and roll from the 1950s - 1970s. Drummer and bandleader Jon Cohan formed the band in 2009 with some of his favorite local musicians to perform at Right Turn Live, a sober cafe in Arlington, MA. Cohan’s goal was simple: to introduce audiences to the great groove-based music he grew up listening to. Since its inception the band has grown into a nine-piece outfit. Boston rock stalwarts like Phil Kaplan of Men and Volts and Sal Baglio of The Stompers join dynamic singer Erica Rothenberg, guitarist Mike Pyle, bassist Jeff Keithline, percussionist Stephen Whitney, saxophonist Artie Camacho, and keyboardist Bob Camacho. The combined talents of the musicians brings a fresh and swinging interpretation to some of the finest examples of American music, including some tasty, rockin’ Holiday tunes for this special Regent concert.

At 6’8″, Ryan P. Casey looks more suited for the basketball court than the stage. But his keen ear for the rhythms of words and the rhythms of dance has launched his career as a talented writer who is “fast becoming recognized as one of the top tap dance soloists in the country.” Ryan has worked with such great instructors and choreographers as Brenda Bufalino, Heather Cornell, Michelle Dorrance, Barbara Duffy, Sean Fielder, Derick K. Grant, Adrienne Hawkins, Josh Hilberman, Jeannie Hill, Jimmy Locust, Drika Overton, Jason Samuels Smith, Sarah Petronio, Sue Ronson and Dianne Walker.

Matias is a professional magician with more than 15 years of experience in magic shows and family entertainment. He has performed in the USA, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia. He performs a variety of magic and illusion shows hundreds of times per year. He was the top children’s magician in Chile before moving to the USA.

Local actor Jerry Bisantz will perform selected monologues from his IRNE nominated (Best Actor) portrayal of beat writer Jack Kerouac, written by playwright Patrick Fenton, from the original play Kerouac’s Last Call, which will appear in early 2013 at the new Regent Underground Theater (The “RUT”)

Dan Foley, a virtuoso juggler and skilled comedian, will keep both adults and children laughing and amazed! Dan is best known as the homely half of the fabulous juggling duo, the Airborne Comedians—sometimes appearing at the Boston Museum of Science and other venues as the Amazing Nano Brothers.
