One of the original British Invasion bands (and one of the best), The Zombies performed (and sold-out) at the wonderfully renovated Regent Theatre in Arlington, MA on July 7, 2013. Lead singer Colin Blunstone revealed the age of the band on stage and it was amazing as The Zombies are in as great form now as they were during their early hit making days... it was great to see then in a venue more fitting for one of the coolest quintets of all time.

Thankfully, it turned out that the current incarnation of this initially short-lived British Invasion band was undead in the sense of being very much alive... the 90-minute set peaked with five choice cuts from 1968’s Odessey and Oracle, one of those albums that nobody bought when it was released but that nowadays better be in every record collection along with Something Else by The Kinks, Love’s Forever Changes, and Ogdens’ Nut Gone Flake by The Small Faces.

By Nancy Shohet West Globe Correspondent / February 13, 2013 As both a parent and a music teacher, Josh Shriber was well aware of the problem with much of the music to which kids listen. So the mission of Shriber’s band, Josh and the Jamtones, is fairly straightforward. “We try to create a sound where Mom and Dad don’t want to throw the CD out the window after the first listen,” the Newton resident said.
