Ultrasonic gang will ‘Rock’ you
Excerpts from the Boston Herald Review By Brett Milano
…‘‘A Night at the Rock Opera,” is largely a greatest hits of early-’70s concept albums…the highlight of the evening is an original mini-opera, ‘‘Will We Rock You?,” written by leaders Sal Clemente and Alan Ware and singer Peter Montgomery.
…The piece is both a dig at (Andrew Lloyd) Webber and a clever catalogue of early-’70s styles, with obvious nods at The Who and Queen. After the mock-tragic ‘‘Andrew Lloyd Webber Said No,” the five-song piece builds to a suitably bombastic finale.
…The night offered cover versions of some of rock’s all-time toughest songs to cover,
including Queen’s ‘‘Bohemian Rhapsody” (complete with the opera section that Queen never even tried to perform live) and a lot of vintage Who, Beatles and Bowie. Musically, the show is first-rate: Unlike many rock-opera companies, this crew doesn’t forget to rock. Ware is a fine Keith Moon-style drummer, and it doesn’t hurt that local guitar hotshot Tony Savarino (of the World’s Greatest Sinners) is anchoring the band.
Aside from the original piece, the foremost attraction is getting to hear some of the grandest late-’60s and ’70s productions done with original vocal parts intact. The Queen material proved especially up their alley; they nailed all the gospel-choir overdubs on ‘‘Somebody to Love.”
…Getting turned down by Lloyd Webber may be the best thing that ever happened to the Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra.

“I have to tell you that I have not recovered from this experience !! I told the five
people that I had with me that I had a feeling this was going to be something special.
This turned out to be an understatement of the highest order. We were ALL completely
blown away by this performance!! The vocalists were absolutely phenomenal, and
the entire show was pure joy to watch.”
“I grew up with The Who, Queen, and The Beatles and first saw "Superstar"
in London many years ago. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was outstanding!!
The harmony on "Because" was terrific!! It was not only a great musical
event but a visual experience as well. I've been to many concerts over the years,
and you and your group ROCK!!”
“Wow! We were all rocked...coming from a family of musicians we really appreciate
great stuff!! Thanks again for a wonderful evening~~~
we will always remember “A Night At The Rock Opera!”
“From the start, I think I knew I had underestimated what we were in for.
You all put on a show that rocked the full house and had everyone heading
into the streets buzzing about what an amazing show we had just witnessed.
My only wish now is that you and the cast can find a way to bring your talents
to the masses. I see this show on stage at the Orpheum, or the Opera House,
or even touring the country.”
“The singers were terrific, and you truely are a force on stage - genius! -
to have orchestrated such a brilliant show and, even more importantly,
delivered a message of triumph over adversity.”
“You guys kick ass! After the show, I only heard great feedback as we were leaving.
