JUDY PANCOAST
Extraordinary Children's Music

Award-winning entertainer Judy Pancoast is an acclaimed children’s musical artist whose exceptional original songs for children instantly captivate audiences of all ages and bring children and families together in a spirit of wholesome fun.

Judy earned her BA in Music from the University of Maine, and was a solo performing artist, the leader of two popular bands, and a successful radio announcer for many years.  Her natural ease with children and belief that they receive an invaluable education through music led her to pursue and attain a Master’s Degree in Education.  It was then that the confluence of her musical ability, her ability to inspire children and her sense of humor resulted in her acclaimed series of original recordings and renowned children’s concerts.

With loyal fans among those aged 3 to 11, Judy has produced four popular collections of children’s music.  Her innovative song writing won her the coveted Children’s Music Web “Best Song for Young Children” award three times… for her songs Swimming in Jello , The Potty Dance and One Big Eyeball.    Her 1998 recording, Candy, won a Parent’s Choice Award.  The title tune of The House on Christmas Street CD has enjoyed growing radio popularity each holiday season, and is licensed to two software animation companies for use in holiday lighting displays throughout the world.  All four of Judy’s CDs have been endorsed by the Coalition for Quality Children’s Media.  Her music is heard regularly on XM Satellite Radio where she has been the host of two special programs.

Judy has taken her high-octane performances on the road in 48 U.S. states to date.  She has performed in concert twice by request for President Bill Clinton.  Her repeat performances at the New York A-list fundraiser for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation garnered a celebrity following as stars Julianne Moore, Natalie Portman, James Gandolfini and others joined hundreds of children who were entertained by her concerts at the Kids for Kids Carnival.  Judy is also a featured performer annually at Robert DeNiro’s Tribeca Film Festival Family Street Fair.  She has traveled twice to Nairobi, Kenya, for week-long workshops, where she and the children of the Nyumbani Orphanage have written several songs together.  Two of the songs are available on a fundraising CD for the orphanage.

Judy is a featured artist on the select roster of Artists in Education of the New Hampshire State Council for the Arts and the roster of the New Hampshire State Library’s “Kids, Books and the Arts” summer reading program.  She can also be heard regularly as an announcer on Boston’s Oldies 103.3.

In 2007 Judy received a special commendation from the New Hampshire State Senate for her outstanding work with children.

Judy lives in New Hampshire with her husband of 21 years, Philip, and daughter Louisa (13), along with her a hamster, a parakeet, a dog and two cats.  Eldest daughter Emma is a Music Business major at NYU.  Judy is active in supporting many organizations dedicated to helping children including the Optimist Club International and the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
